The Ubisoft, LucasFilm partnership also signals the end of Electronic Arts’ 10-year Star Wars exclusivity agreement first signed in 2013, which produced only two Star Wars: Battlefront games and 2019’s Jedi Fallen Order. The blog post confirms that while the exclusivity deal is ending, the partnership with EA is not.
“We’re really proud of the games we have created with EA,” Reilly said. “We will continue working with them and our relationship has never been stronger. While we may not have a lot of details to share at the moment, we’ve got a number of projects underway with the talented teams at EA.”
Wednesday's announcement follows the news that Bethesda will be collaborating with LucasFilm Games on a new “original story” game within the Indiana Jones franchise. MachineGames, developer of the 2014 Wolfenstein reboot The New Order and its sequel The New Colossus, will be heading development of Indiana Jones.
